These links don't work for me.
I was not aware that there is problems here.
I hope it's not a case of officials coming up with schemes in order to justify their inflated salaries.
Can you clarify what you mean by links not working. Specifically which ones?
I’m going to need to do a bit more digging to find out more, however it seems to be an expansion of the UTMC system.
The current weekly Travel Ipswich update says:
"Consultations
The plans for the following junctions will be put to Councillors on Monday 20 January
2014. If there are no particular issues arising from this, the consultations will be
available to view in Tower Ramparts shopping centre, in the week commencing 20
January. Information will also be available via the Travel Ipswich website.
Consultations will relate to the following junctions:
Woodbridge Road/Argyle Street
Nacton Road/Felixstowe Road
Norwich Road/Chevallier Street
Consultation details relating to the next part of the Travel Ipswich project including
improvements to Princes Street, Giles Circus, Queens Street, St Nicholas Street and
Lower Brook Street will be available shortly. "
There are currently no traffic lights at this junction currently.

The hedgehogs squirrels and pigeons definitley need traffic lights. Humans don't.
Someones being paid way too much money.

Description:
Planned Start:2014 TBA Planned Finish
Location:
Expected Disruption:
Monday 27 January – Monday 10 February
The proposals for changes to this junction can be viewed at Tower Ramparts shopping centre, Aqua Pharmacy on Duke Street and at Rosehill Library on Tomline Road.
Proposals:
* New traffic signal controls to be provided at the junction of Felixstowe Road with Nacton Road and Rosehill Road
* Pedestrian crossings to be provided as part of the junction
This will help to regulate the flow of traffic into the town centre and give improved mobility for pedestrians and cyclists
How to get involved:
If you would like to make comments on the proposals there are comment cards available in Tower Ramparts shopping centre, Aqua Pharmacy and Rosehill Library, or please email: travelipswich@suffolk.gov.uk Please return your comments by Monday 10 February.
Comments might include:
Don't wast money on lights here. Instead why not.........there. Because the amount of traffic does not justify the expenditure on traffic lights here.
Where is the money coming from to pay for this?
I've just heard on BBC Radio Suffolk that the lights at this junction are likely to not be implemented due to the strength of local opinion, though may be implemented later if required once the UTMC system is up and running.
I've just had, come through my letterbox, a Tory leaflet stating:
".... objections to the proposals has been overwhelming, so I have decided not to proceed with the signal scheme for the time being. We will review the situation after the Urban Traffic Management Control system has been commissioned and its impact on Ipswich's traffic flows has been fully assessed." Cllr Harsant
Well let's use this opportunity to suggest schemes such as:
Well if you must have traffic lights, why not dispense with the badly designed roundabout on Wherstead Road and have West Bank terminal traffic trigger lights in their favour on demand.
An off-road cycle path along The Strand. There were many cylists, racing and pleasure, out on this narrow stretch of road last Sunday. I nearly got knocked off by a driver blinded by the low Winter sun whilst ascending Freston Hill.
Some safe solution for east-bound cyclists on Felixstowe Road, Bixley Road roundabout. I'm really fed up with having to cycle on the pavement for safety reasons.
Can you please keep on topic for each thread/issue. Please create new issues and connected threads for each of the separate locations that you have brought up.
